Tips for stress reduction

  • Plan - make a list and tick it off

  • Make a timetable for the big day - when to put the potatoes in, when to take the turkey out, etc

  • Find out in advance what people want to eat / drink. Create a printout drinks list of what you have on offer, to give to guests to choose what they want.

  • Set an arrival and departure time (for you and guests)

  • Set a budget and stick to it.

  • Have bin bags ready for recycling material and general rubbish

  • Spend some time outdoors to get your Vitamin d and exercise

  • Take 5 mins to sit and breathe

  • Practice some meditation

  • Do some gentle exercise like pilates or yoga
